Welcome. My name is Jim Chisholm, and I’m a video editor with in depth experience in Media Composer, Symphony, DS, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Sony/CMX/GVG Linear Edit Systems.
This website includes samples of my work, including short form and long form programming, rather than the traditional montage demo reel. Thanks for visiting!

History & Recommendations
I’ve been editing for over 25 years. Although the tools of the trade have changed – from cutting film, to linear editing suites, to non-linear software on computer – the goal remains the same: tell a compelling story that conveys your message to an audience.
I began my career at United Way of America cutting campaign films, National Football League PSAs and Superbowl spots. I also onlined the Academy Award documentary short “The Courage To Care.”
I later became a freelance editor working for the top post-production houses in Washington, DC working with clients such as ABC News, Koppel Communications, Discovery Communications, National Geographic, HGTV, and many, many others.
While freelancing for Discovery Communications, I developed close, trusted relationships with staff producers, and was part of the handful of editors brought “in house” to edit Discovery’s high-profile programs. From those small beginnings, Discovery transitioned from doing all of its work out of house, to growing into the Discovery Communication’s Technical Center, the largest post-production facility in the United States.
With a desire to escape the congestion of DC, and return to long form programming, I moved to Denver where I am editing outdoor sports programming that airs on Versus and ESPN. My shows have garnered awards from the Outdoor Writers Association, and an International Wildlife Film Festival award.
